Google Pixel 8 will get a more compact screen

Google seems to make a more compact flagship of the Pixel 8, which should appear later this year. Details about the screen size have now been leaked.

Google Pixel 8 screen is getting smaller”

In 2023, very few compact smartphones will be released. In fact, every new Android device has a screen of 6.5 inches or larger. Google may change this later this year with the Pixel 8. According to new information from smartphone insider Ross Young the phone will have a smaller screen than its predecessor.

Where the Pixel 7 has a 6.32 inch display, the Pixel 8 would have a 6.16 inch screen. The difference is not very big, but it does make the new smartphone a bit more compact and therefore easier to operate with one hand. The Pixel 8 Pro would also be 6.7 inches, just like the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will probably take a while to arrive. Google usually unveils its latest smartphones in October and we expect that to be the case in 2023 as well. Until then, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will remain for sale, although a cheaper Google phone is still planned.

Pixel 7a

We may see the Google Pixel 7a next month. The successor to the Pixel 6a has almost completely leaked, giving us exactly what to expect. For example, photos of the Pixel 7a have previously surfaced, as well as the most important specifications.

The device is said to be very similar to the regular Pixel 7 and will have a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. In addition, the 7a would get more RAM (8GB instead of 6GB) than its predecessor, which helps with multitasking and playing heavy games. Rumors also mention a Tensor G2 processor and the option of wireless charging.

Google will most likely present the Pixel 7a during Google I/O 2023. This developer conference will take place on May 10 this year. We do not yet know whether the phone will also come to the Netherlands, what it will cost and when Google will sell it.
