The best Huawei watch has finally achieved one of the options that it was missing: ECGs or electrocardiograms. After obtaining European certification, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro can already measure if there are signs of atrial fibrillation in the hearts of its users. In addition, the Huawei Watch D has obtained the certification to perform blood pressure measurements.

Smart watches long ago abandoned their goal of telling the time and displaying notifications on the watch to become active allies of our health. And watchmen night and day, that the different sensors incorporated in smartwatches they manage to measure from the heart rate to the amount of fat that our body accumulates. Also another value of vital importance: the health of the heart. After being popularized by the Apple Watch, electrocardiogram analysis is becoming more and more popular.

As confirmed by Huawei itself, the company obtained the long-awaited certification so that watches equipped with the latest generation PPG sensors can perform electrocardiogram measurements. Always without a medical field, that all readings should be taken at an informative level: smartwatches are not a medical device. Neither Huawei nor any other, whatever the brand.

With the European certification, all users of the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro will have access to the new ECG functionality. This reading will be available through the health app and will arrive shortly as an update: although it is already certified, it may still take some time for all watches to have the new heart rate measurement.

Currently, there are several watches that are enabled to perform electrocardiogram measurements directly on the wrist (and by placing a finger on one of the watch buttons). The Apple Watch includes this function since the Apple Watch Series 4 (the SE does not have it), the Galaxy Watch also has it: the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 was the first to introduce electrocardiograms. As happened to Huawei, Apple and Samsung also took time to see the new functionality of their smartwatches certified.

With the new healthy option, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro takes a leap forward to fight in better conditions against its most direct competition. And it is very worth it: both by design and by hardware and software, Huawei has achieved an excellent smartwatch for most users.
