There are wild rumors about a new Nokia phone. Will Nokia soon blow away all competition with the ultimate flagship, or is it just not right?
Rumor: Nokia magic max specifications do not lie
The last high-end smartphone from Nokia is unfortunately several years old. The rights to use the brand name are owned by HMD Global and not too exciting devices have been released since then. That may change later this year. The brand is rumored to be working on a high-end smartphone, the Magic Max.
All kinds of specifications have now been published for the device, but take a good grain of salt, because the whole thing sounds like the perfect smartphone. For example, the Magic Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip from manufacturer Qualcomm. That is a logical choice, because it is the most powerful and efficient chip at the moment. There are variants on the market with 8GB, 12GB or 16GB RAM and you have a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage space.
The screen would be 6.7 inches in size and have a refresh rate of 120Hz. This ensures that everything is displayed smoothly and playing optimized games is very smooth. There is also LTPO technology available. For example, if you view a static website, the refresh rate is lowered, which is better for the battery. Finally, there is a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus on the screen to prevent scratches and damage.
Rumor: Zeiss cameras and immense 7950 mAh battery
There are four cameras in total, including the front camera in a hole in the display. The cameras on the back were developed in collaboration with lens manufacturer Zeiss. The main camera has a resolution of 144 or even 200 megapixels, something we know from the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Xiaomi 12T and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, among others.
Such sensors often use pixel binning, where multiple pixels are compressed into a single one. That process in turn provides more contrast, better colors and a higher level of detail.

There is also a wide-angle lens on board, which allows you to shoot images of up to 64 megapixels. Finally, a telephoto lens is present, so you can zoom a bit. How many times that is exactly possible and what type of zoom is used exactly is unclear. That sensor is rumored to have a resolution of 48 megapixels.
We assume that the Magic Max runs on a bare version of Android 13, something Nokia is known for. This upcoming flagship is powered by a battery with a capacity of no less than 7950 mAh, so you should be able to do three days on a single battery charge. If you are without power, you can refuel the battery with a maximum of 180 watts.
Price and availability nokia magic max
The device should be launched in the third quarter of this year. In addition, there is speculation about a starting price for the entry-level model of only $ 550. Converted and without extras and taxes, that is only 520 euros.
