After we have seen several smartphone announcements from Motorola in recent weeks, we can also expect a new budget device. According to sources, the E22 is on its way and here you can check the first images.
Motorola has recently released a lot of new smartphones. At the Moto event on September 8, we saw (top) devices such as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo, and the manufacturer recently released the affordable E22s.
Now Motorola also seems to have a worldwide launch of the Moto E22 on the schedule. according to tasty Paras Guglanic the Moto smartphone is available from September 16. The price is still a bit vague, because it would be between 100 and 200 euros. In addition, he has also shared several renders of the device that show several differences with its brother, the Motorola E22s.
Familiar design and colors
In the images above, the smartphone can be viewed from all sides. We see a recognizable Motorola design, but with flatter sides. On the back we find two lenses and on top of the device is a headphone connection.
A fingerprint scanner is missing at the back, but it may be incorporated into the on/off button on the side. We saw that on the E22s as well. The smartphone comes in three colors: black, white and blue.
Motorola Moto E22 vs. E22s
Internally, the E22 is very similar to its brother. Both contain the Helio G37 chip. That is fine for daily use of social media, Netflix and YouTube, but not optimal for heavy 3D games. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh, with which you can easily get through your day.
The biggest difference is the screen. Where the E22s has a small hole in the screen for the selfie camera, the E22 retains an (old-fashioned) drip notch. Unfortunately, it is not yet known which resolutions the cameras of the new Moto have. On the E22s we see a 16 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. So nothing to write home about.
The E22s came out with Android 12: the latest version available on Motorola’s. And that is not obvious with a budget Android smartphone. The new E22 will also run Android 12, but nothing is known about the update policy yet. Support for 5G is not available.
Motorola has released a lot of new smartphones and is in the making, including the new Edge 30 series. We have been able to test this one for a while, so be sure to check out our preview.
