realme watch 2 pro: A Watch For The Basics To Last For Several Days | Tech reviews

Realme continues to bet on building, little by little, an ecosystem of personal solutions at low cost that we have been trying to cover in our tech reviews. While keeping the phone as the central axis of its strategy, it is nourished by components such as headphones and smart bands . Although they do not become a smartwatch, due to the limited functions it has, it is interesting to know what benefit we find in these devices. We have put the Realme Watch 2 Pro to the test , and we have hardly put it on charge.

Realme Watch 2 Pro: what you should know

Better built than the Watch 2. The hardware feels better finished than the Watch 2 we reviewed a few months ago , and which we prefer to keep in the dark. In this case, and despite the plastic finish on the edge and the cover that comes into contact with the skin, it does not feel rustic or lacking in quality. We are talking about a Smart band with a square cas screen, with 20 mm straps that are easy to remove and replace, a side button and a series of pins and sensors distributed on the back. Simple, soft to the touch and a good size.

A better screen. Unlike the “No Pro” model, we find an IPS screen of better quality in terms of color reproduction and contrast level. It goes well in the sun, achieving just 600 nits at maximum brightness – note that the brightness is not automatic – and allowing you to view content without problems in the sun. The tactile response is fine, and the button allows the equipment to be turned off if we leave it pressed for about 3 seconds. On the other hand, the borders are much thinner, allowing the content on the screen to stand out, although we did not achieve that perfect contrast due to the nature of the IPS panel.

Realme Link, unable to move. Like other versions of the brand that we have reviewed, this device comes with Realme Link to pair the phone and download the data that we obtain from our physical activity. Although on the one hand we already have a version of Android, we will not be able to pair the watch to another smartphone without resetting it and deleting all its data. a pity In the app you can access your metrics, steps, distance traveled, heart rate and other records. The weird thing is that I couldn’t rescue the data from the previous accessories, but you can export your data to Google Fit.

Very comfortable for company. I used it for a couple of weeks, and I only took it off to take a shower because I’m not used to showering with watches, because I could have done it thanks to the IP68 certification. To sleep it does not bother at all, except in those moments when you remember to adjust the screen off at certain times, something that you should consider in a device that does not have automatic brightness.

Very limited features. As I said at the beginning, realme gives us a Smart band, a quantifying device that already incorporates its own apps and that, for now, does not allow us to interact with responses or reactions to email, text or voice messages. We also do not have access to the phone assistant nor will we be able to answer calls. We can only use what is integrated, which, fortunately, is not a small thing: exercise routines, heart rate measurement, sleep measurement, music and camera control, the usual.

Wow, survive. She came using the equipment for two weeks, and her drainage was only 5% daily, brutal. It was surprising how this team could endure so much, although later you understand that the absence of heavy processes ensures autonomy. Of course, when it reaches 15%, look for the magazine, because it drains very quickly from that top. I remember using a timer with the team at 15% and it was only able to account for 6 minutes of screen time, before dying from lack of power. Note that the equipment takes a couple of hours to load, despite having a pin system. Patience.

It’s worth it? Personally, I think that every brand has an important niche of loyal fans who jump between versions. However, realme does not yet have a timeline that allows the jump. Compared to other brands, which enhance experiences focused on sports and have faster charging systems or slightly more friendly finishes, this Watch 2 Pro surpasses them in autonomy and size. In that price range, you won’t find something of that screen size with small borders, and that has more than 10 days of charge. We are talking about 329 soles, a range in which we can have room for maneuver for a Huawei Fit – from 369 soles – or a Xiaomi Watch 2 Lite – 299 soles -. Even the Huawei/Honor Band 6 looks just as interesting. And do remember to check out more of our tech reviews and leave comments.
