A few weeks ago we learned of the launch of new Xiaomi phones such as the Redmi 11 Prime, Redmi 11 Prime 5G and Redmi A1. And while the first two are only in India at the moment, it is the Redmi A1 that has arrived in Spain. at a very succulent price.
This terminal inherits part of the essence that we already saw in the Xiaomi Mi A1 and that ended with the Xiaomi Mi A3, since it is does not have MIUI inside, but Android 12 Go. It is the first since that aforementioned A3 that comes with another version of the system, since goodbye to Android One.

It is the first Xiaomi without MIUI in a long time
We start by saying that this new Redmi A1 mounts a 6.52-inch IPS panel. It does not have great boasts in specifications, since it is a panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate. However, it is HD+ which is already a standard in this economic range.
Inside it has a cheap range chip from Mediatek, the Helium A22. To this is added a configuration of 2GB RAM, which is the one that is sold despite the fact that on the Xiaomi website it also appears with 3 GB. For storage we find 32 GB expandable via microSD card.
It should not go without autonomy, since it has a 5,000mAh battery capacity. Of course, the charging times are yet to be determined and they aim to be somewhat fair, since this Redmi A1 still has a Micro USB port, which offers charging up to 10 W. Fortunately, and as usual in this range, includes the charger in the box.
In the photographic field, this Redmi A1 mounts a 5 megapixel selfie camera. On the back, in addition to a lens that helps to take photos in portrait mode, we find a 8 megapixel main camera. To all this is added the possibility of recording videos with 1,080p resolution at 30 frames per second, both with the front and the rear.
And the most striking point and to which we referred is found in the software. If there is something that many criticize about MIUI, it is the amount of bloatware that it can bring. In this Redmi A1 we find ourselves a version similar to pure Android, being Android 12 Go. Beyond Xiaomi’s own apps such as phone or camera, this system is quite clean.
Versions and prices of the Xiaomi Redmi A1
