Apple is working on foldable devices, that’s well known. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, we’ll see the first such Apple device next year with a foldable ipad.
Foldables are on the rise. The form factor is now established for smartphones, and there are also first models for notebooks. If you are interested in the topic, you can read our previous tests here and here. There are no official products from Apple yet, only hobby projects like this iPhone X as a foldable.
But enough of the preamble. Ming-Chi Kuo is a very reliable Apple analyst. He prophesies us on twitter a year without new iPad models. Some models will probably only be upgraded to new processors. In his opinion, this will also be reflected in declining sales figures.
For 2024, though, he’s confident we’ll see the iPad Fold (or whatever it’s called). He bases his statement on the fact that suppliers are preparing accordingly. In this specific case, it is about a carbon kickstand for the new foldable.
It remains to be seen if Apple will launch the first foldable tablet. Samsung is also said to be working on a foldable tablet.
We find foldables pretty exciting. How are you?
