OnePlus would like to finally release a tablet in 2023: the OnePlus Pad. It may be a copy of the Oppo Pad, which did not appear on the western market.

OnePlus finally releases tablet

The reliable tasty Max Jambor know for sure: OnePlus will finally launch a tablet in 2023. The company is of course known for its smartphones, but also sells earplugs and smartwatches. So having your own tablet, the OnePlus Pad, seems like a logical next step.

OnePlus may not develop the device all by itself. Several websites are speculating that the device will be a copy of the Oppo Pad, which was only released in China. That wouldn’t be illogical. OnePlus and Oppo are both part of the BBK Electronics company. By sharing the design, costs are saved.

If these rumors are true, the OnePlus Pad is going to be quite powerful. It would then run on a Snapdragon 870 chip. It is somewhat older, but still offers excellent performance. The 11-inch screen has a high resolution of 2500 by 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This makes images look very smooth. Unfortunately, it is an LCD display, which offers a less good contrast than the OLED screen of, for example, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus.

The battery of the Oppo Pad is 8300 mAh and charges fairly quickly with 33 Watts. The same could therefore apply to the OnePlus Pad. Oppo released the device in two versions. The basic variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs in China converted $ 356. The more expensive model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage retails for $475. Whether OnePlus uses the same prices is uncertain, however.

Google also comes with new tablet

The Android tablet is experiencing a real revival. Google will also release one next year: the Google Pixel Tablet. It runs on the Tensor G2 chip, which we know from the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. What is special is that Google also releases a dock for the tablet. It can charge the device and offers a built-in speaker for better sound.
